Tora: There were a lot of different meanings behind our costumes so they gave a deep impression. Our costume designer had made them, they had quite a unique sense. The pants and such kind of looked like the knickerbockers a worker would put on so it was a little like “Eh?!” (laugh). However, they didn’t get them finished until the exact day we were taking the artist photos, so they didn’t make it on time, and I ended up only wearing the top half of the outfit.

Nao: I had cleaned my pants and they shrunk in the wash so I couldn’t wear them! (laugh)

Saga: Oh yeah, they had to buy you new ones while we were on tour.

Nao: Yes. Thankfully I was able to get new pants! (laugh)

Hiroto: Around this time we had so many singles being released in such a short span of time, we had a lot of events lined up…it was so hectic, so much different than how things are, now!

Hiroto: The music video for 'GEMINI'...that feeling, that high energy... I love it to no end!
Saga: Uuuuugh I love 'Birth in the death'..even if I say so myself...even though there's no bass in it. I love it. (Although we can't really perform it.) At the time I was writing that, I was listening to Massive Attack's 'Teardrop' and Squarepusher's 'Iambic 9 poetry' a LOT. Ahhh, nostalgic...!

The day is almost over, but, today is the anniversary of the day that us five as Alice Nine, had our first session up on stage. I remember a feeling of exaltation at that moment when the curtain was open and seeing the sight…I want to continue carving such unforgettable moments in the future.

Tora and Saga's dieting discussion.

(after hearing questions from fans about keeping in shape, their dieting habits, and cooking)
Saga: Oh, I gain weight when we're not on tour, it can be tough... However, when I'm practicing, or playing a game--when we're playing Winning Eleven--
Tora: (laughing)
Saga: --I forget to eat. When we're in the studio for 8 hours at a time, it's easy to forget to have anything.
Tora: That's very true. Hm, but out of all of us, I'm the one that gains weight the easiest. I have to really watch it. So, actually, lately I've been on a pretty strict no-carb/low-calorie diet while preparing for the tour, so I haven't been eating a whole lot.
Saga: That's crazy, it must be tough...
Tora: ...it is, I can't even watch tv commercials at times! Lately the ones for Sukiya (restaurant) have looked soooo good, it's like... Who in their right mind would make such a commercial, it's torture...!
Saga: (laughing)
Tora: ...as for the diet, well, I heard about it from Gackt, actually; he trained and went on this diet for three months...so I figured I'd give it a go for three months, myself. But it's like, Gackt has even said this, even being in a band with the 'band lifestyle,' you've got to be careful...
Saga: That's so true. But y'know, someone who can watch out and take care of themselves can be pretty stoic and cool, I think.
Tora: Yeah...but with our band...for people who like sweet things, it's incredibly tough!
Saga: I think Hiroto has it the easiest, I'm jealous!
Tora: He never gains weight!
Saga: And he'll say, 'oh before the tour I gotta get skinny' and I'm just like... (mumbles) are you being pompous...
Tora: (laughing) ...as for cooking, 3-minute meals (as asked about by the fans) I really don't cook much at all, but Hiroto does a lot, doesn't he?
Saga: Oh yeah. Oh, recently--
Tora: Yeah?
Saga: During preproduction--
Tora: Go on.
Saga: I was at Hiroto's place, and HE MADE FOOD.
Tora: He did?
Saga: He totally did.
Tora: (laughing)
Saga: In the morning, he was up and cooking, and I was like...'what?' See--I had been asleep, and the door was open, and he poked his head in and asked 'what'd you like to eat?' Totally like a mother! (They're both laughing) And I just replied with 'Anythiiing...' So, later, I get up, and I'm so tired, I just plop down on the sofa and he's all 'HERE!' and puts a plate of spaghetti in front of me.
Tora: How'd it taste? Seems like the food he makes is good.
Saga: It was really delicious, I was surprised!
Tora: ... With Hiroto's cooking, I don't think his quite fits the standard of '3-minute meals,' or 'guys cooking'... But it always seems like the meals that are recommended for that type just aren't tasty. And the ones Hiroto makes are always the ones I should stay away from... This is definitely an age where you have to be mindful of your body type.
Saga: Very true...
Tora: ...and some of the rules for it I don't quite get, like, you can eat chuuka-soba, but it's soba NOODLES, so wouldn't you get fat? I don't get it!
Saga: (laughing) Gotta stick to your diet...But you've also gotta make sure you get the right amount of nutrients, but it's something I don't get, either! (laugh)
Tora: (mumbles something about eating sushi while on the diet and Saga laughs) in the end, you just have to be careful with any diet, I guess.
